Located in New York City’s Midtown Manhattan, Carnegie Hall stands as one of the nation’s most famous concert venues. The iconic venue was built in the early 1890’s by the well known philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, and despite its location in a city known for a plethora of entertainment venues, Carnegie Hall NYC has still managed to become one of the most legendary venues for both classical and popular music. Carnegie Hall consists of three very separate and distinct performance spaces: The Main Hall, Zankel Hall and Weill Recital Hall. The Main Hall at Carnegie Hall, also known as the Isaac Stern Auditorium, seats 2,804 guests and is the largest out of the three spaces. Zankel Hall is the mid-size venue of the three with a seating capacity of 599 and is known for hosting a variety of performing and educational functions. Last but not least, the Weill Recital Hall can be found on the third floor of Carnegie Hall and offers an intimate setting with 268 seats. On average, the Carnegie Hall schedule features about 250 performances each year. Although it hasn’t had a resident company since 1962, the Carnegie Hall schedule still hosts a number of events from renting performance organizations. Why not plan your visit now?
