      Using DNA Testing for Genealogy

DNA testing has become a very popular way to learn more about your family background. Most advertisements focus on discovering your geographic background, dividing your heritage into percentages of German, Irish, Italian and more. But DNA offers much more powerful tools for genealogical work and discovering your family history. If you are thinking of doing a DNA test, or have done one and are not sure how to use the results, this talk will help you take the next step.

Dr. Cathy Moran Hajo is a historian who directs the Jane Addams Papers Project at Ramapo College. She is also the president and archives director of the Mahwah Museum.
